SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN!!

ATYP Teacher PD Morning!

As you may know we were lucky enough to play host to Rob Jago from the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) who are based at the Wharf in Sydney. Rob came up to work with our holiday program students on characterisation and run the Professional Development morning about teaching with drama. I was lucky enough to go along to it and it was a fabulous morning! Being able to share resources with one of the top Youth Theatre companies in Australia was fantastic, I'm sure it will influence our Term Two classes!!

HOLIDAY PROGRAM EXCITEMENT! 

Rob also worked with the students in the Holiday Program, Adventure Timez, to build character and physicalisation. The kids had a lot of fun and I'm sure they learnt a whole boatload of new things! When the session was over all I could hear was excited chatter throughout the building about how fun it was and how much everyone learnt, I'm sure the excitement was relayed to Mum and Dad in the car ride home and at the dinner table! 

Today the kids got to work with Hayley Gillespie to create their fantastic costumes for the showcase! Hayley has worked on many a holiday program and other productions and is a wiz! Hayley comes in and helps kids to put together a design on a white shirt that the student has brought in! The best part about it is that you get to bring home anything you create and then you can wear it where ever and whenever you like! As you can see together Hayley and the students make an awesome team, the resulting outfits are always really cool and look amazing on stage! Hard to believe that they only had a couple of hours to put these amazing costumes together!!
