Throughout our 4-Day Drama Camp Program, students develop the essentials of stage performance through improvisation, role-play and characterisation activities. They discover how improvisation techniques and the elements of drama (voice, movement, and body language) can be applied to scene work and inject clarity and spontaneity into their performance. In doing so participants develop their ability to think on their feet while performing in front of a live audience. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore costume design as well as incorporating multi-media performance elements such as sound, lighting and live projections. At the end of the program participants will receive a certificate of achievement and perform in a world-wide premiere for their parents and friends on the final afternoon in The Young Company’s own Adventure Theatre Studio. |

SCHOOL HOLIDAY TOP FAQ
1. What time can I drop my / pick up my child at TYC?
Our doors will open at 830am each morning for drop offs, with the program starting at 9am. The program finishes at 3pm (beside performance day). Please do let us know if you do need to drop off your child earlier or require a later pick up, as we are more than happy to be of assistance.
2. What to bring?
If your child could please bring along a water bottle, lunch and additional snacks each day. They can put stored in the TYC fridge to keep them cool or alternatively we recommend a small school esky. We also ask that lunches and snacks do not contain nuts, due to other students’ food allergies.
3. What to wear?
We ask that your child wears comfortable clothing each day (ie: shorts and t-shirt). On your child’s performance day, we ask students to please bring along theatre blacks (a black t-shirt/singlet and black tights/shorts/trousers with no visible labels on it). They wear these underneath their costume during the performance. We also have TYC black t-shirts available for purchase from the Box Office. Please just ask one of our facilitators for more information.
4. What happens during break times?
During the supervised break times at TYC students are more than welcome to sit back and relax and watch a movie (selection from appropriate G and PG ratings, please see our team if any queries) in our foyer or adventure theatre. Or play a board game from the TYC games box with other participants, make some unique creative art work for the TYC Art Deco Wall or read a book in the TYC Library.
