The next MainStage Production to hit the stage at TYC will be Between Us! The cast in this show are spectacular and it is one not to be missed. 

This production is also part of the Cairns Festival and therefore will be open for an extended run!! You can see Between Us from Friday 19th- Saturday 27th

Secrets change us for better and for worse; they destroy relationships, build bridges, continue our deceptions and confirm our beliefs. Should I tell? Does she know I love her? Was I wrong? Who am I? These are the big questions that we have all asked ourselves; the answers may have changed us or revealed us in ways we are still discovering. A mix of young voices grappling with big ideas and we get a glimpse into the lives of these characters at a crisis point

Crunch Festival

This week students have started to work towards our end of year Crunch Festival! Some classes have gone through audition processes, characterisation activities and others have been doing read throughs of the script. 
In our next newsletter (which will be going home with students soon) the Crunch Festival timetable will be enclosed. It's a great idea to make note of your child's tech and performance dates in the calendar or keep them on the fridge because it may seem like a long way away but if there are any issues we need to know ASAP so that we can rearrange :) 

Dead Puppet Society Workshop

Next week TYC will be playing host to the fabulous Dead Puppet Society who are coming to do a one off workshop all about puppetry for students in year 9-11!
The workshop is going to bring students through a mock creative process that will demonstrate the key steps taken by the Society in the creation of new visual theatre works, helping students translate text into visual language. Students will also get to learn the skills of Puppet Manipulation, focusing on gravity, breath and poetic illusion. This session is not to be missed if you've ever wondered about puppetry! 
This workshop will be held on Wednesday the 3rd of August (next week) at TYC HQ and goes from 9:30-2:30. The cost of this workshop is $40 per student, don't forget a water bottle and some lunch! Book now before all the spaces are gone!

Pirate Party

This year TYC is turning EIGHT!!!! To celebrate we are throwing a HUGE birthday bash!! The party is pirate themed and will be AMAZING so make sure you note the date down in your calendars!! Dress up as a mermaid, pirate or parrot and enjoy the lavish surrounding of the SSTeeWhySea!!!
When: Saturday the 8th of August 6:00-8:00pm 
Where: TYC HQ
Cost: $7 entry for a whole lot of swashbuckling
