DON'T MISS OUT!After an exciting rehearsal period the 48 Shades of Brown cast are ready and pumping to hit the stage this Friday night! This awesome, not to mention hilarious, show opens with an amazing cast this Friday, running through to Saturday. The performance is the first Mainstage of the year, not to be missed! Packed with funny moments and relatable scenes 48 Shades of Brown is sure to be the best show of the term! A few months ago Dan had to make a choice. Go to Geneva with his parents for a year, board at school or move into a house with his uni student, bass-playing aunt, Jacq, and her friend, Naomi. He picked Jacq's place. Now he's doing his last year at school and trying not to spin out. Trying to be cool and trying to pick up a few skills for surviving in the adult world. Problem is, he falls for Naomi & things become much, much more confusing. As Dan fumbles through the process of forming a relationship with someone he also learns about making pesto, interpreting the fish tank scene from the film Romeo + Juliet, why almost all birds are one of the 48 shades of brown and why his best course of action is just to be himself. MEET THE CREW!!If you've ever wondered how a production gets put together then these are the people you need to talk to! If you see anything onstage or the costumes on the actors, even the sounds you here, it all comes down to the crew! As a crew we start preparing right at the beginning of the cast rehearsals, putting together designs and making lists of all the lists that need to be made. For 48 Shades of Brown we have been lucky enough to have an excellent team! Tom Williams and Darcy Maher- Tech Team Tom and Darcy have been working in tech since the day they were born. They have a combined production list of at least 3 million productions and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. They have been working tirelessly, designing and programming lights and sound to get the best out of our stage. Skye Simpson, Amber Eustice and Charlotte Murray- Stage Managers Skye, Amber and Charlotte have been working day and night to bring this performance together. As you're watching the show try and count the number of props that enter and exit the stage, I guarantee that you will lose track, these girls however, are all over it like a rash. Francesca Kunz and Ellie Johnston- Design Team Francesca and Ellie are two of TYC's most experienced Design Managers. They have worked on a multitude of performances and dressed thousands of actors. Without them you would see our cast standing helplessly on stage... in their undies... not a pretty site. These girls are the masters of disguise! Michael Elliott and Evelyn McGuinness (me!)- Director and Production Manager We're secretly ninjas...don't tell What happens during a show?Well, during a performance a lot of things are going on, let's count them:
1) The tech team are working the tech box, lighting our stage and giving us sound, a full time job. 2) The stage managers are backstage giving out props, organising cast and opening curtains, without them nothing would happen! 3) The design team dress the cast before the show and do touchups during interval. While the cast are onstage the design team are doing whatever needs doing, holding things, folding and taking care of costumes. 4) The cast are onstage performing 5) Mike and I sit in the audience and enjoy every minute of it! And there is soooooo much more but this list would become a post in itself!! 48 Shades of Brown is one not to be missed so get in quick and book your tickets HERE! We can't wait to see you at TYC this weekend!!! This is Evelyn, exiting Stage Left!
