REHEARSAL: Phase two
Phase Two of Rehearsals often sees a fall in the initial excitement of being cast to do the play, and a realisation that a lot of hard work is required to put on a play. However, this is the phase where the hard work takes flight. The student actors now need to start answering the important questions about their characters (character activity 1)
They also need to start memorising their lines. It is important that the theatre director only allows the student to use their script in this phase of the rehearsal process. This is where they can ask about any words that they do not understand, and also write down all of their creative stage movement notes.
The Playing approach to rehearsals allows the student actors to develop their own interpretation for their character (character activity 2) and also allows students to develop skills in:
